About

The importance of the role of a caregiver is no longer debatable. However, caregivers sometimes do not know about or have difficulty finding the resources designed to help them. A simple and accessible directory is now available free of charge to users and professionals. It promotes awareness of and facilitates access to services for caregivers.

Libra-aide is a mental health services directory that makes it easy for you to find the services that meet your needs.

The directory is designed to help you identify mental health services through intuitive and customizable web browsing.

History

The initiative and funding for the project come from the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal’s Mental Health and Addiction Program, led by Tung Tran. The project began in 2021 with the collaboration of many local stakeholders and was finally launched online on February 21, 2022.

The Libra-aide project was born out of a desire to highlight the mental health services caregivers can access.

Information will be updated annually to remain relevant. You can register new organizations and services by contacting the Libra-aide management team.

Mission

The initiative aims to increase and facilitate access to the various services available to caregivers of people living with a mental health disorder and to healthcare professionals.

Libra-aide lists non-stigmatizing resources and services tailored to your needs and those of the people around you throughout your life.

In order to avoid limits on postings, the site also includes in its directory services that are more general, but still related to mental health issues.

The directory offers 24/7 multimedia content for selected resources, such as service presentations and testimonial videos.

Why Libra-Care?

The CIUSSS West-Central Montreal Mental Health and Addictions Program team thought it was imperative to provide easy, effective and enjoyable access to as many mental health resources as possible.

The team behind the creation of Libra-aide therefore decided to incorporate a selection of features and filters into each service in order to allow users to carry out more specific searches.

With a focus on mental health, the initiative prioritizes services available to caregivers of people living with a mental health disorder. In the coming years, and with the help of the community, the Libra-aide directory will consider diversifying topics related to mental health.
