Guichet d’accès en santé mentale adulte (GASMA)
The GASMA is the gateway to access mental health and addiction services at the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. It is mandated to evaluate users and refer them to the service that corresponds to their needs. At GASMA, a multidisciplinary team receives requests for adult mental health services from physicians and various network partners. This team ensures that the requests received are received in the right sector. It then prioritizes the requests according to the urgency of the patients’ situation. During a meeting with the patient, a qualified worker evaluates the specific need for the service request and directs the user and his or her family to the appropriate service. The important thing is that the person in need of help can receive support and accompaniment from the right team at the right time.
Assessment and Guidance
The Adult Mental Health Access Desk (AMHAD) is the gateway to accessing services along the mental health and addiction continuum. GASMA is mandated to assess clients in order to direct them to the service that corresponds to the needs presented.
